About this role: Quality Assurance Inspector (Piping)

  • Are you a driven, independent and enthusiastic Quality Assurance Inspector (Piping) interested in joining the team of our client, a reputable global Oil and Gas company;

  • Monitor the NDT activities carried out on the weld seams. Ensure the NDT percentage complies with ABS requirement and Petrobras specifications;
  • Monitor and ensure that all daily RFI are cleared on time;
  • Plan daily inspection activities based on the RFI received from subcontractor;
  • Ensure that all standard operating procedures comply with specifications, quality standards, statutory and regulatory requirements;
  • To carry out the daily inspections as follows:

Material Verification

v material heat number matches correct mill certificates

Fit-up Inspection

v confirm material conforms to the latest AFC drawing

v confirm the measured dimensions are within project dimension tolerance

Pre-Welding Inspection

v check the WPS correctness

v check welder pass to ensure weld process qualifications and continuity

Final Visual Inspection on Weld Seam

v confirm the final finishing of the weld seam meet AWS D1.1 and specification

  • Any other assigned duties and responsibilities;

Requirements

Requirements

  • Degree / Diploma in Naval Architecture / Marine and Offshore Engineering, Certificate of Competency (Marine Engineer Officer) Class 1 (Motorship), or its equivalent;
  • API Pipe Inspector or Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) 3.1 certification;
  • At least 5 years of relevant Quality Assurance working experience in new-build or FPSO conversion in the offshore and marine industry;
  • Familiar with Pipe fabrication work, code requirements and Class rules;
  • Experience and technical knowledge in new-build of vessel and/or FPSO piping work;
  • Competent in reading P&ID and Isometric drawings;
  • Familiar in ASME code, EEMUA standard and ABS class rules;
  • Independent and work with minimal supervision;
  • Responsible and hands on mentality to follow-up on the work progress;
  • Computer Literacy (Microsoft Office).
