On behalf of our client, a Global High Profile Service Provider to the Oil & Gas industry, Brunel are looking for a Controls Technician Service Personnel (Field Service Technician) / Controls Engineer to go offshore for a two-week assignment in Darwin. ASAP start.

Technical Service Personnel prepare, support and troubleshoot the installation, testing, recovery, maintenance and repair of oilfield equipment including, but not limited to wellheads, risers, tensioners, control systems, subsea processing, trees, manifolds and tie in systems. Technical Services Personnel are on-site to coordinate, advise and interface with our customers and their contractors to ensure flawless execution of field installation and workover activities on oilfield equipment.

  • Works independently to install, test and repair new and reworked products (equipment and tools), ensuring no rig lost time for our customers
  • Assures all equipment, service tooling and spare parts are on location and ready to use by performing inventories and function-fit tasks prior to beginning each job
  • Records critical information such as dimensions, weights, temperatures, pressures and flow rates to ensure assembly/system will work per design and procedure requirements; also assists with the review of product testing, running and in some cases with assembly procedures
  • Completes tasks in accordance with procedures and applicable codes and/or standards
  • Provides “Project Support” as required, for all new projects
  • Exhibit solid leadership skills and have the drive to grow into a future leader within the company

  • Possess full Australian working rights
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Mechatronic Engineering
  • Knowledge on subsea product lines or good knowledge of multiple technologies, products and applications
  • Good understanding of engineering practices, design methods and calculations
  • Solid analytical and problem solving, systematically utilizing prevention skills
  • Ability to read, interpret and prepare applicable technical information and suggest design or process changes to ensure simple, functional and cost-effective results
  • Computer literate
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience preferred
  • Offshore experience desirable

FIFO (fly-in fly-out) and local workers on WA mining and resource sites, people who work in remote operations, or run critical infrastructure, including remote train and port control, must receive their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine by 12:01am 1 December 2021, and be fully vaccinated by 1 January 2022. This is mandated by the State Gov’t of Western Australia.
